Camp Details:

What grades are you servicing through the School Prep camp?

Grades 1st - 9th.

When does the camp start?

As of right now, August 17th, when Collierville schools reopen.

How will the students be grouped?

The groups will consist of differing grades (most likely).  We will group grades as close together as we can. The goal is 1st-3rd, 4th-6th, and 7th-9th.

What is the cost and commitment to the camp?

The cost per day is $35.  You will need to commit to at least four consecutive weeks at a time (12 camp days).  This is for the overall well being of the learning environment and scheduling.

Payment options:

1) Four weekly payments ($105 due when you register and then on the first day of class each week)

2) Two payments ($210 due when you register and then on the first day of class the third week)

3) One payment ($420 due when you register)

-->We are offering the 10% additional sibling discounts for this camp. Again, if you need to pay per week or bi-weekly, you may do so but you will still need to commit to four weeks.

**Enrollment in your camp group will continue and you will be automatically billed unless you decide to discontinue our service.  You do not need to re-enroll every four weeks.

What if I do not wish to continue after my current camp session?

You will need to notify us via email or phone that you no longer need our services before your four week camp session is up.  This is to ensure that our waitlist students have proper time to be notified that a spot has opened.

What if my child misses a day?

If your child misses a day (due to sickness, trips, etc), you will receive a day's credit on your account to be used for future sessions or any event at Creative Minds.

What does my child need to bring each day?

  • Any books, notebooks, binders, or folders that you need to complete assignments given by your classroom teacher

  • Ipad, chrome book, or laptop for watching live or recorded classes (chargers as well)

  • Earbuds or earphones

  • Sketchbook or spare notebook for sketching

  • Supply bag that you would bring to school  (pencil pouch, box, etc)

  • Peanut free lunch and drink

  • Afternoon Snack (we will provide water or fruit punch)

What can I do to prep my child for your camp?

  • Have your child practice using and logging on to their educational, virtual platform.  The studio teacher will be there to help but this will aid in the efficiency of the lessons.

  • Ask your child about their assignments.  Make sure they have some sort of organization, folders, agenda book, etc.

  • Keep an updated sheet with sign-in information for live classes (give a copy to the studio teacher).

  • Talk to them about the importance of this camp.

What is the studio teacher's role?

  1. Guidance

  2. Support

  3. Community

  4. Encouragement

The studio teachers will guide the students through their lessons and assignments, making sure the y stay on task and give them the support and structure that they need.  However, they are not full time tutors.  They will answer questions to the best of their ability and encourage them if they get "stuck".  Because they will be answering questions, inevitably they will be aiding in their education but we cannot guarantee that they will be furthering their understanding of content.

The studio teacher will have a class calendar that he/she will make notes on for virtual class times.  As long as we are notified via email or note, we can do our best to ensure that your child is online for class if need be.

The studio teachers will be a part of their learning experience and we want them to know that we care for them and want them to want to do their best.  We will be doing some supplemental activities and fun things so the students will be engaged and want to do their best during this process.  This is part of their learning!

Will the teachers have a background check?

All teacher are subject to a background check and must have experience working with children and receive good recommendations from former employers and references.  Teachers will need to have an associates degree or some form of higher education.

What happens if a child or teacher becomes sick with Covid or has been told to Quarant ine?

We will immediately advise the rest of their camp group and teacher(s) to Quarantine per CDC guidelines as well as anyone who has possibly come into contact with that student.  Credits for camps and classes will be issued for when students are allowed to come back to class.

What precautions are you taking for Covid safety?

  • Temperatures will be taken at the beginning of each class.

  • Class enrollment will max out at 10 students per class.

  • You will be required to sign a Liability waiver for your child to attend camp.

  • Students will be three to six feet apart at tables.

  • All teachers will wear a mask through the duration of the class.  Masks will not be required for children but strongly encouraged for students.

  • Bathrooms, surfaces, and supplies will be wiped down every day to ensure cleanliness.

What are the drop-off and pick-up procedures?

Adults must have a mask on when entering and in the building.  In the mornings, we will have a 60 minute drop-off window.  We ask that students are seated at their table promptly by 8:50.  We will also have both the doors open so you can quickly drop off and exit.  Pick-up has a 30 minute window and the same process will be followed.  Their studio teacher will take their temperature and sanitize their hands upon arrival.  Please do not linger in the building to talk with other parents.

What happens if schools are required to completely shut down again?

As long as we are legally able, we will continue to operate the Out-school camps and offer the two additional days for virtual learning.

What happens if you are not legally able to operate?

We will refund all fees not for the time not in studio.
